Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

AIHL Forecaster is a free, non-commercial personal project. It shows Australian Ice Hockey League standings, results, and form statistics. This page explains how it handles data, in plain terms. It was written with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in mind. That said, this site barely handles any data, so most of those rules don't really come into play here.

No personal information is collected

This site doesn't have user accounts, logins, forms, or any way to submit information to it. It doesn't collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information from visitors. There is no backend server that your browser talks to. The app is a static page that runs entirely in your own browser.

Visit analytics

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies. It doesn't store anything that identifies you personally. Visitors are counted using a one-way hash made from the request, and that hash resets every day, so you can't be tracked across days or across other sites. Beyond this, this site runs no other analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts.

Where the sports data comes from

Team, game, and fixture data is compiled from publicly published box scores and schedules on theaihl.com. Win-probability figures are worked out locally in your browser, using a simple Elo rating model. Nothing is sent off your device to calculate them.

Local storage

Your browser may cache this site's files, like HTML, data files, and images, the normal way any website's files get cached. This just makes the site load faster on repeat visits. It's standard browser behaviour, not something this site sets up for tracking.

Changes to this policy

If how this site handles data ever changes, this page will be updated to reflect that.
